Wheel Around & Insurance Coverage
Wheel Around is considered an out-of-network provider with all insurance plans and policies. Since most knee walker rental companies are out-of-network we do not bill or file a claim to your insurance on your behalf. HOWEVER, most insurance policies may offer a knee scooter rental reimbursement, and you can submit for reimbursement directly to your insurance provider. To submit a claim you will need the following documents:
- A letter of medical necessity to be filled out by your doctor. You can print one here, or per your request, we will provide one to you directly with your rental.
- A prescription for a knee scooter/walker from your doctor, along with the diagnosis code.
- A final bill showing the total amount paid. We will gladly provide this to you at the end of your rental.
Read Medicare Instructions Here: If you have Medicare insurance (the Red/White/Blue insurance card) we also carry the appropriate Medicare reimbursement form. This document applies to Medicare only, not any Medicare replacement insurance plans. Medicare replacement insurance plans will use the letter of medical necessity form found above.
*Please note we can not guarantee that you will be reimbursed for your rental. The information listed is a general guide for insurance coverage and reimbursement. Coverage and reimbursement is solely based on your insurance company and individual plan. Please contact your insurance provider directly to see if a knee walker/scooter is a covered benefit with your individual policy.
